What is HIP 50933

Suspended within Ursa Major, this A-type white star lies 339 light-years away and breathes with a variable pulse that gently alters its brightness. The light reaching us tonight left its surface in the late seventeenth century, as Newton published his «Principia» and recast the cosmos in equations. Hotter than the Sun, it beats with the silent cadence of stars that change.
