Slightly hotter than the Sun, its light reaches us after a century and a quarter of travel: tonight's beam departed when the Wright brothers were readying the first powered flight on the dunes of Kitty Hawk.

HIP 50786 lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky.
