Its story

In the southern sky, within the sails of the Argo, throbs this white A-type star. Its light left the constellation about 169 years ago, when the first great world fairs were opening and steam was beginning to weave routes across the planet. It is a variable star: its brightness breathes with subtle changes, born of inner tensions that turn it into a living beacon. Hotter and more luminous than the Sun, it reminds us that stars too have a pulse.
