Hot blue starIts story
Among the lateen sails that stitch the southern sky burns a blue B-type sun, a young and hot ember whose light set out 438 years ago. When its voyage began, Venetian shipyards were dragging Lepanto galleys ashore and the southern skies were still nearly untouched ground for Europe. Far more massive and luminous than our Sun, its bluish glow paints a clean, almost musical accent against the dark.
