Its story
22 Ursae Majoris is a yellow-white F-type star burning at 160 light-years within the Great Bear, home of the famous Big Dipper or Plough asterism. Slightly hotter and more luminous than the Sun, its light slips among the seven stars that have guided sailors and walkers since prehistoric times. It is a minor piece of the great celestial board, yet its glow lies within reach of any attentive observer.
