Its story

In the keel of Carina, in the southern sky, twinkles an orange type-K star, cooler than the Sun and dressed in the warm tone of a distant bonfire. Its light set out 202 years ago, when Beethoven premiered his Ninth Symphony in Vienna and the human choir first sang the ode to joy. It has crossed two centuries of silent sky to deposit its discreet glow upon our night.
