Its story
In Chamaeleon, an orange K-class star burns at 499 light-years. The light we see tonight broke free around 1527, the year of the sack of Rome by Charles V's imperial troops, when Europe realized the Renaissance could be shattered by cannon fire. A discreet southern star, easy to overlook in a constellation that itself slips past notice.
