Its story
In Lynx —a constellation so faint that Hevelius said only a lynx could see it— shines a white A-type star some 165 light-years away. Its light set out in the late nineteenth century, in the heart of the industrial revolution, and now arrives clean and cold. Hotter and more luminous than the Sun, it quietly holds a corner of the northern sky where few bright neighbours come to keep it company.
