Its story
In the rich southern constellation Carina shines an orange K-type giant, swollen and veteran, far larger than the Sun. Its light slipped free about 384 years ago, when Galileo had just died under house arrest and Europe was reluctantly accepting that the Earth turned. It arrives now warm and antique, like a faraway ember held in time.
