Rho Phoenicis is a yellow-white F-type star lying some 242 light-years away, in the southern constellation of the Phoenix. Its brightness varies slightly, possibly with the fast, subtle rhythm of the Delta Scuti pulsations that affect other similar stars. It belongs to a sky sparsely scattered with bright stars, where every luminous point stands out sharply against the dark background.

Rho Phoenicis lies in the southern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is September, when it culminates around midnight.
