Its story
70 Geminorum is an orange K-type star in the region of the Twins, 372 light-years away, not far from the axis of Castor and Pollux. Its surface, cooler than the Sun's, bathes its light in a warm tone unusual among naked-eye stars. When that radiation set out, around the middle of the 17th century, Huygens had just recognised Saturn's rings as a flat disc.
