Nganurganity

Variable starIts story
Nganurganity took its name from the Boorong Aboriginal people of south-eastern Australia, where it represented the Bram-bram-bult brothers, local heroes of their cosmology, long before it entered European catalogues under a modern label. It is a variable orange giant, far from here: 1,121 light-years, set in the rich star field of Canis Major. The light arriving tonight set out around the ninth century, when Europe's first Romanesque cathedrals were just beginning to rise from the ground.
