Its story
37 Geminorum lies 56 light-years away, an intimate distance in cosmic terms. It is a yellow G-type star very much like the Sun —barely a touch larger, barely a touch cooler— and this makes it one of the most studied solar twins in the sky. To look toward it is to look toward a star almost identical to the one that sustains life, only at a different hour of the universe.
