Variable star

Its story

13 Ceti is a yellow-white F-type sun, surprisingly close: only 69 light-years from here, in the body of the Whale. It is also a variable, meaning its brightness shifts on a measurable rhythm, a soft pulse only instruments register. Its light set out in the mid-twentieth century, around the time of the first Apollo missions. Through proximity and character, it is one of those stars that modern catalogues measure again and again.
