Hot blue starIts story
133 Tauri is a blue subgiant about 633 light-years away, on the eastern flank of the Bull. It shines at some 680 solar luminosities and from a surface so hot its colour shifts firmly past solar yellow into blue-white. It is receding at about 26 km/s; a transitional star, already on its way toward a far more expanded giant phase.
