Its story
26 Camelopardalis looks out from the celestial giraffe, a modern constellation traced in the 17th century to fill a gap of bright stars between the Great Bear and Perseus. It is a white A-type star whose pure light travels 198 years before reaching us. It set out around the time Beethoven was premiering his Eroica, a light that has come walking slowly across the northern sky.
