Hot blue starIts story
In Orion, the firmament's most famous hunter, shines this blue B-type star, young and hot, part of that family of giants that populate the region. Its light set out 1,539 years ago, around the year 485, when the Western Roman Empire had just collapsed and Europe was entering the Early Middle Ages. Far more massive than the Sun, its bluish surface betrays extreme temperatures and a swift, brilliant destiny.
