Hot blue starIts story
Theta-2 Orionis A is a super-hot O-type star at the very heart of the Orion Nebula, close neighbour to the famous Trapezium. Its ultraviolet radiation is one of the engines that light and sculpt the cloud cradling the whole region —the most photographed stellar nursery in the sky. Its light takes more than fifteen centuries to reach us, threading through veils of gas still giving birth to new stars.
