Its light set out around the year 670 BCE, when the Assyrians were sacking Thebes on the Nile and Rome was not yet an empire. B-type stars emit an intense, vibrant blue-white light; they live in furious haste and die young, leaving behind elements that the galaxy inherits with generosity.
