What is HIP 25887
In the southern Pictor, some 548 light-years away, beats this orange giant of type K. Its light set out around 1478, when the Spanish Inquisition was being established and the printing press had spent two decades reshaping European knowledge. Cooler than the Sun but noticeably larger, it offers an ancient amber glow within a small modern constellation drawn by Lacaille under the skies of the Cape of Good Hope.
