Its story
27 Orionis burns orange around 187 light-years away, on the edges of the celestial Hunter, far from the splendour of the Belt. Its K spectrum reveals a surface cooler than the Sun s, a golden light that asks for a patient gaze to be picked out. A photon released in its atmosphere has taken nearly two centuries to settle on Earth.
