Its story
In the northern constellation Auriga —the Charioteer— shines a white A-type star, sharp and hotter than the Sun. Its light set out about 289 years ago, when the first steam engines were being raised in English mines and Linnaeus was organising the living world into a system of double names. It arrives now with the cleanness of freshly polished glass —a discreet gleam among the reins of the sky's ancient charioteer.
