28 Andromedae is a white A-type star whose luminosity wavers slightly, a sign of internal pulsations that leave their mark on its brightness. It inhabits the figure of Andromeda, the chained princess whose constellation hosts the nearest spiral galaxy visible to the naked eye. Its light takes a little over two centuries to reach us.
