Hot blue starIts story
72 Tauri is a blue B-type star about 378 light-years away, in the same patch of the Bull that hosts the Hyades and the Pleiades. Its blue-white colour betrays a very hot surface, and its swift youthful rotation links it to the great stellar associations of the region. Small and discreet, it seems to float among the named giants of antiquity without ever asking to be noticed.
