Its story

122 Tauri is a white-yellow F-type star in the Bull, moving away from us at more than forty kilometres per second —a sizeable radial velocity, enough to shift its spectral lines measurably towards the red—. Its glow crosses just over one hundred and fifty years to reach Earth, leaving when refracting telescopes were starting to rival the great Victorian reflectors.
