Beemim
Its story
Beemim flows along the long course of Eridanus, the celestial river that meanders through the southern hemisphere. An orange giant 296 light-years away, it is a modest light within an enormous constellation that the Greeks tied to the Po, the Nile, or any great river depending on the storyteller. Its name carries Hebrew echoes and was added late to the official nomenclature, a reminder that the sky is still being named.
