Its story
54 Persei is a solitary yellow star on the back of Perseus, visible to the naked eye under dark skies with its warm tone and magnitude 4.93. At 218 light-years, its G type recalls the Sun in colour and temperature, though it has already begun the slow drift toward giant status. It shines near the Alpha Persei cluster, almost lost among more famous names, with a light that set out before photography existed.
