Its story
24 Persei glows with a quiet orange tint some 368 light-years away, in a constellation drawn by Greek myth as a hero holding Medusa's head. Its light, weighted toward long wavelengths, reveals a K-class star cooler than the Sun yet far older and more swollen. It is drifting toward us at around 37 kilometres per second, silently, and has been for millennia.
