Its story
32 Eridani shines as a yellow G-type star along the long course of the celestial river, around 313 light-years away. It shares its spectral class with the Sun, yet its magnitude 4.46 at such a distance betrays a far greater luminosity —a giant or subgiant tens of times brighter than our daytime star. When its light set out, telescopes were only beginning to chart the river of Eridanus.
