Tau-8
Variable starIts story
Tau-8 Eridani flows along the long celestial river that winds between Orion and the southern skies, some 377 light-years away. It is a variable B-type star —young, hot, bluish— whose brightness shifts slightly through pulsations at its surface. It belongs to a sinuously drawn constellation, one of the firmament's most extensive, traversed by a sequence of Tau stars that traces the river's meanders.
