Its story
In Taurus, home to the Pleiades and the Crab Nebula, this yellow G-type star shines from almost five hundred light-years away. Its light set out around 1523, when Hernán Cortés was completing the conquest of the Mexica Empire and Juan Sebastián Elcano was returning from the first circumnavigation of the globe. The solar yellow of G stars is, among all stellar colours, the one that most invites us to imagine habitable landscapes across the cosmos.
