Its story
76 Tauri is a yellow-white F-type star about 188 light-years away, another of the lights scattered across the Bull's outline. Hotter than the Sun and still relatively young, it holds a sharp, quiet glow best appreciated through binoculars. The light crossing the eyepiece tonight set out in the early nineteenth century —the years when the first asteroids were being discovered—, and returns each winter on the western flank of the Hyades.
