What is 59 Arietis
59 Arietis is a yellow, Sun-type star in Aries, the zodiac's Ram that opens the classical astrological cycle at the spring equinox. At 219 light-years away, it offers the same warm, calm light as the Sun but projected to an unreachable distance. Its glow has travelled through space for over two centuries and left the photosphere, almost on cue, just as Mozart was premiering his final operas in Vienna.

59 Arietis lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is November: the Sun sits at the opposite point of the sky and the star culminates around midnight.
