Its story
Within Eridanus the river beats a yellow-white F-type star 139 light years away. Its light set out around 1887, when Hertz was demonstrating in his Karlsruhe laboratory the existence of the electromagnetic waves predicted by Maxwell. Slightly hotter and more luminous than the Sun, it shines with that barely golden hue that separates yellow from white.
