Hot blue starIts story
93 Ceti sends out a hot blue glow from five hundred and fifty light-years away, in the vast Whale that stretches across the southern winter sky. Its B type signals a very hot, energetic atmosphere, typical of young, massive stars. Cetus also harbours Mira, the first variable whose name means precisely the wonderful: the sea monster holds more marvels than it lets on.
