Its story
It belongs to Perseus, the hero carrying Medusa's head in one hand and, in the other, the sword that severed it. Its yellow tone places it in the G family, close kin to the Sun. The light that grazes us today set out a little more than five hundred years ago, when the first Renaissance world maps were only beginning to sketch the outline of America and Europe was starting to imagine a truly spherical planet. Brighter than the Sun, it quietly upholds the mythical outline of the constellation.
