Hot blue starIts story
Pi Arietis is a blue main-sequence star of type B6V, surface temperature above 13,000 kelvin and around 538 times the Sun's luminosity. It is also a tight spectroscopic binary whose components circle one another every 3.85 days, too close to be split by any telescope. At about 780 light-years it shines with a blue-white light among the horns of the zodiacal Ram.
