38 Arietis is a white variable star of type A, located about 119 light-years away within the small constellation of the Ram. Its brightness shifts slightly over time, a stellar breathing recorded only by instruments. Its light, now resting on human pupils, departed when clipper ships still carried tea from China to England.

38 Arietis lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is November: the Sun sits at the opposite point of the sky and the star culminates around midnight.
