Variable star

Its story

82 Pegasi —also designated HT Pegasi for its variability— is a white A-type star classified as a Delta Scuti variable: it pulses upon itself in short cycles of hours, expanding and contracting like a stellar heart. From 183 light-years away in Pegasus, its light set out shortly before the end of the First World War. Spotting it with the naked eye demands a very dark sky, far from any light pollution.
