Its story
Sigma Pegasi is one of the relatively close neighbours on the wing of the Winged Horse: a mere 89 light-years separate it from us, a notable nearness for a star visible to the unaided eye. Of F-type, it sits in the spectral range between Sun-like yellows and the hotter blue-whites. Its clean, steady light rides silently across the back of the celestial Pegasus, the figure linked to the hero Bellerophon in Greek myth.
