Its story

Iota Cassiopeiae is a white A-type star whose light reaches Earth after 133 years of travel. It belongs to the retinue of Cassiopeia, the queen seated on her throne whose W-shape dominates the northern circumpolar sky. Catalogued as slightly variable, its brightness shifts almost imperceptibly —small fluctuations that only the patient eye and modern instruments can pick out from the otherwise fixed stage of the constellations.
