An orange K-class variable in Pegasus, 292 light-years away: the light arriving tonight broke loose around 1734, in the heart of the Enlightenment, when Voltaire was publishing his «Lettres philosophiques» and reason aimed to put the world in order. Its brightness shifts almost imperceptibly, the slow pulse of a giant breathing without haste.

HIP 112997 lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is September: the Sun sits at the opposite point of the sky and the star culminates around midnight.
