Its story

Pegasus gallops through the autumn sky, and here burns an orange class K star, cooler than the Sun. Its light crossed 277 years: it set out while Bach was working on his St. Matthew Passion and Baroque music was reaching one of its peaks. The star heard none of it, but its glow —coppery, sustained— belongs to the same century as the score.
