Its story
30 Cephei is a white A-type star about 287 light-years away, set in the circumpolar region ruled by the angular silhouette of the King. Hotter and whiter than the Sun, its surface burns somewhere between 8,000 and 10,000 degrees. The light arriving now left around 1739, in the heart of the Enlightenment, when the great refractors were beginning to chart the northern sky.
