Its story

ν Indi is a white A-type star in the discreet Indus, a constellation traced by Dutch navigators Keyser and de Houtman at the end of the 16th century to honour the indigenous peoples they encountered on their sea routes. Just over ninety light-years away, its crisp light crosses an almost empty sky, where the eye drifts without bright stars around it.
