Its story

50 Aquarii lies in Aquarius 458 light-years away, an orange giant set in a constellation that evokes rain, rivers and ancient pitchers. Its warm light no longer comes from the central fire of hydrogen but from outer layers swollen after the original fuel was spent. It glows with the unhurried signature of a mature star and inhabits one of the most mythologically loaded corners of the zodiac.
