Its story
62 Andromedae is a white A-type star in the princess Andromeda, the mythological figure chained to the rock and rescued by Perseus. At 246 light-years away, its glow is modest, but its cold, clean tone stands out well in binoculars. The light crossing the atmosphere tonight left its photosphere when, on Earth, the first Jesuit missions to China were only beginning to throw a cultural bridge between the two ends of Eurasia.
