Variable starIts story
16 Pegasi is a blue B3V star and, on top of that, a rarity: it belongs to the slowly pulsating B class and has been confirmed as magnetic via spectropolarimetry with the Narval telescope in France and ESPaDOnS in Hawaii. Its brightness varies by only hundredths of a magnitude, yet its magnetic modulation hides a pattern near 1.44 days. It shines from 632 light-years away, near the neck of the winged horse.
