Variable starIts story
It belongs to Aquarius, the water-bearer, one of the oldest zodiacal constellations of the Mediterranean world. White in color and of A class, it radiates with a temperature plainly above the Sun's. Its light set out around 284 years ago, when the French encyclopedists were preparing the edition of Diderot and d'Alembert's Encyclopédie, monument of Enlightenment thought. It is a variable with a discreet pulse, enough to register the slow beating of its atmosphere. It shines with a firm white among the signs that figure the celestial water-bearer's jar.
