47 Cassiopeiae inhabits the celebrated W of the seated queen, about 108 light-years from Earth. Its F spectrum places it among the yellow-white stars, slightly hotter than the Sun. The light crossing a human eye tonight broke free from its surface around the turn between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
